Heating and Cooling Systems

During the dog days of summer, it is common for people to use air conditioners to stay cool. It is important to remember that if you choose to use an air conditioner, you should keep in mind energy efficiency. Not only is it good for the environment, but it will also reduce your energy bill. I recommend using energy star rated units, being that they are at least 10% more efficient than the government's standard. There are many different types of energy efficient units, such as the Frigidaire Window-Mounted Compact Air Conditioner, Whirlpool Resource Saver, and GE 115 Volt Room Air Conditioner. One energy efficient unit stands out to me more than the others: the Friedrich Kuhl Plus. Not only is it 30% more efficient than the government standard, but it also has a heating system built in for when it gets cold later in the year. Additionally, the 9,500 BTU unit comes in multiple colors. It truly does seem like the best buy. It can be found at http://www.ajmadison.com/cgi-bin/ajmadison/YS10M10.html#.Ue6JOI23SSo
Keep in mind that air sealing and duct sealing enhance the heating/cooling systems' efficiency!
